PETE stands for Prevention, Enforcement, Treatment and Education. It is the basis for the needed comprehensive Code of Standards that are evidence based coupled with Best Management Practices and good old common sense. 

 

Taking a gradual piece by piece approach is not the answer.  Look at the increase in deaths chart for proof.

 

Everything that needs to be done in each community to save lives and reduce injuries that stem from drunk and impaired driving fits into one of the PETE Categories and their sub categories.  Failure to do all of them will result in a flaw that leads to serious injury or death of innocent people, especially children.  Everything recommended in PETE  is constitutional and morally correct.  Only those who have a profit agenda or who are in bed with “Big Alcohol” will oppose it.
